On the top of our list we find the charming city of Montreal. San Diego

If you’re looking for the perfect combination of long beaches and interesting culture, San Diego is the place to go. With 70 miles of shoreline you will have plenty of chances to soak up the sun. If you want to leave your sunbed for a while, there are both a number of historical buildings to see and one of the best zoos in the US to experience. Being close to the border, San Diego also has great Mexican cuisine.

At number three on the list, we head back to Canada to pay the beautiful city of Vancouver a visit. In Vancouver the city and nature are close, with both high mountains and (maybe a bit surprisingly) popular beaches. If you are interested in culture, there are also several museums to choose from – and in the summer Vancouver offers a number of large festivals.

New Orleans

Being the birthplace of American jazz, New Orleans is a vibrant city filled with music and culture. New Orleans also offers unique architecture, courtesy of the French architects who colonized the city in the 17th century.

Washington D.C.

Washington D.C. is one of the most visited cities in the US and when it comes to American history, this is definitely the place to be. From significant buildings to monuments and memorials, Washington D.C. will offer a history lesson unlike any other. Here you find a great mix of museums, together with beautiful parks and good food – in Chicago you can taste both local specialities and American classics. Skyscrapers are a big part of Chicago’s heritage, and the skyline is formed by more than 100 of them giving the city its unique look.

The cosmopolitan city of Toronto has been called one of the most culturally diverse cities in the world. This is also the city where there is something for everyone – no matter if you like nature, sports, art or culture. The city has literally thousands of parks where you can enjoy your time in between activities. A famous sight that is worth visiting is the CN Tower where you can enjoy a spectacular view.

Last but not least on our list of the best weekend destinations is Seattle. With over 100 festivals every year, this is a city where there is always something to celebrate. Seattle offers the possibility of great outdoor experiences, and just a stone throw from downtown you come across beautiful nature. An iconic building in the city that definitely deserves a visit is the Space Needle where you get a panoramic view of the city. Seattle is also the home of Starbucks, and is a city where you can always find a great cup of coffee.
